Weekly status report #3

My objectives for next week is to become a pro at VB, or at least get better at it. VB is a object oriented program which means i can place boxes in with having to write the code for them as well. I think i have accomplish my assignments with a satisfactory result and would like to improve in it in the near future. I also wanted to learn how to code the process of the program which makes the program do certain tasks. For example you have to declare variables in the beginning for each program so the memory can label a memory sector to reserve it for the specific task. As i mentioned before we did VB this week and i completed half of the assignments that were handed out to us by Friday in class. The rest i planned to do at home because extra practice doesn't hurt.

I still have to complete assignments 3 and 4 that were handed out on Friday. In long term future goals i want to learn Java and C++ language meanwhile in the short term i want to become good at VB and learn all the basic code. The challenges i faced this week were the buttons and how they functioned in VB. I thought u were suppose to click on the form and write in the code but it was actually the button were u had to double click and write the code so that specific task would perform.

Weekly Status report #2

This week i learned what a pseudo code is and how to use it. It is a written way of writing algorithms which represent the flowcharts. We also learned about the different types of softwares and what they are used for in day to day life. There are database management softwares, spreadsheet software, application software, and system softwares. There are different types of models of a computer. We also created flowcharts for encrypting and decrypting codes that we learned today in class. We also got our flowcharts back today and had a chance to look at our mistakes so we can be well prepared for Monday's test. My objective this week was to correct my mistakes on the flowcharts so i can be prepared for Monday's test. I also wanted to experience visual basic but unfortunately we didn't get an opportunity too. I also learned different types of memory and their conversions.
The only thing i was struggling with this week was the flowcharts on the encryption and the decryption flowcharts because i did not know that the characters would already be declared in the code and you would have to create another program that gave the character their assigned number. For ex. A=1, B=2, C=3, and so on. But then Ms. Emami explained it to Lauren and I and we got a better understanding of the system. I also has trouble with the cryptography and how to use the wheel in the beginning but then the instruction cleared up the way. It though that your key had to be on the inside wheel and write the code using the outside wheel but it was the other way around. All in all this week was good, not great because i was away for Monday and Tuesday classes.

Weekly Status Report

     My objective in this semester is to learn how to program computer and learn about how they work and help out humanity. I want to learn how to use visual basic and next year java because all the stuff you see on your computer and the internet are programs, which were created by people to assist other people in accomplishing a task. This week I have learned what flow charts are, how they are involved in programming, and how they help to create a problem. I have also learned how to make flow charts on the computer using inspiration. I have all learned how to create a blog this week. Before this assignment I knew what a blog was but didn’t have any experience with webloging.
     I still have to finish my assignment that is due for Monday. I am very confident that I can complete these assignments, which will in result give me a high academic mark. My goal is to know as much as I can about this genius invention made by man. I would like to receive over 85% in this course because in my computer engineering class I achieved 89 % with out making an effort. I would one day like to create a program or a type of hardware, which would make space and planetary exploration much easier for man. The only challenged that faced me today was the flow chart loops. I didn't understand them and I still don’t but I will try my best to understand as much as I can about them and how they work.
